Featuring paintings on canvas, this exhibition marks the artist\u2019s fourth solo show and the first with the gallery.<\/p>\n<p>Ruzzeki\u2019s artworks are a critical and even cynical take on current issues, deconstructing the dreams of humanity in a satirical manner. A self-proclaimed observer of people and their habits, the artist is most moved by what strikes him as ironic or poignant, citing street art, fashion and independent music as his influences.<\/p>\n<p>The artist\u2019s works possess a dream-like, pop-surreal quality, conveying notions of chaos and frantic, with the texts providing clues to content and interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile I use a variety of materials and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different projects, they are linked by recurring formal concerns and subject matter. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ruzzeki Harris (b.1984) lives and works in Malaysia.
