They are Gan Tee Sheng, Dhavinder Singh, Chong Ai Lei and Anabelle Ng.<\/p>\n<p>The four of them view this exhibition as \u201can essential component of the maturity process to find their own visual language\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the gallery\u2019s objective of promoting contemporary Malaysian art, it is taking \u201cthe less travelled road\u201d of promoting a new generation of artists.<\/p>\n<p>It taps the steady growing number of graduates from local art colleges, aspiring start-ups who are full of vigour and who are passionate about taking art to better heights in the process of finding their footing in the art world.<\/p>\n<p>Gan, Chong, Ng and Dhavinder describe their works as \u201call-Malaysian\u201d and diverse.<br \/>\nThey have come together to engage in a common theme: censorship.<\/p>\n<p>It is a refreshing take of an oft-discussed issue by younger voices who are more exposed and inclined to visual and cyber culture.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition provides an opportunity to showcase visual productions of similar discourse alongside individualistic concerns.<\/p>\n<p>It may also be seen as an initiation to a new generation of emerging artists eager to carve a niche for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The gallery opens from noon to 7pm, Mondays to Fridays; and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Catch: Artists on censorship WEI-LING Gallery in Jalan Scott, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, presents \u201cBlank Page\u201d from Sept 16 to Oct 4. \u201cBlank Page\u201d showcases the works of four new artists with drive, talent and discipline.
