\n

THE art exhibition with an eye-catching display was truly an eye-opening experience.
\nThe exhibition, (EYE)-llusions, is a joint effort by Malaysia\u2019s most exciting contemporary artist and photographer Chin Kong Yee and Volker Hamann, from Germany who is also a photographer, artist and sculptor who is well regarded in his country.<\/p>\n

Interesting: Chin\u2019s artwork entitled \u2018Barcelona At Day\u2019 is part of the display.<\/p><\/div>\n

The two met at a wedding party in Malaysia in 2005 and realised that they shared similar ideologies and outlook towards their art. From that point onwards, they became friends and even held an exhibition together in Stuttgart in 2006.
\nCurrently, their joint exhibition is being held at the Wei-Ling Gallery in Brickfields until May 10.
\nWei-Ling Gallery director Lim Wei-Ling said the artworks showed viewers the way the artists \u201csee” things.<\/p>\n

\u201cChin gets his inspiration from the environment surrounding him and his artworks on display are images from Europe,\u201d she said.
\n\u201cWhat makes Chin’s artworks special is that he always incorporates the time and movements from the environment into his artwork.
\n\u201cHis artworks also make viewers feel that they are at the scene of the artwork.”
\n\u201cOne piece of artwork may take around three to four months to complete, therefore it took Chin around two and a half years to prepare the eight pieces of artworks for the exhibition.<\/p>\n

Hamann, meanwhile, took photographs during his stay in Malaysia in 2005.
\nHe then manipulated the photographs using picture-editing software and created illusions that are visually arresting.
\n\u201cVolker\u2019s artworks were specially printed on canvas,\u201d Lim said.
