Cheong Kiet Cheng is the 2018 UOB Painting of the Year (Malaysia) winner and the recipient of the 2018 UOB-Fukuoka Asian Art Museum Artists Residency Programme, where she will be presenting her works in an upcoming exhibition in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Chin Kong Yee<\/strong>\u2019s (B. 1973) works are warped in perspective, with a fish-eye lens effect to them. He has labelled his style as \u201cActuality Accorded Painting\u201d. In Chin Kong Yee\u2019s paintings, images change and evolve as you look at them. The past, present and future are enveloped into one instant, evoking a sense of surrealism. His latest solo exhibition, <em>\u2018Dancing With Shadows\u2019 <\/em>was held at Wei-ling Contemporary in 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Choy Chun Wei<\/strong> (B. 1973) has established himself the most exciting and prominent mixed-media artists working in Malaysia today. In 2014, he was the only Malaysian artist to present a solo booth at <em>\u2018Insights\u2019,<\/em> the curated section of Art Basel Hong Kong. He was also part of the prestigious exhibition <em>\u2018Teh Tarik with The Flag\u2019 <\/em>at the National Gallery Malaysia in 2018, in which the piece <em>Rebirth <\/em>(2018) was featured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dadang <\/strong><strong>Christanto <\/strong>(B. 1957) has won critical acclaim for his ability to portray and sensitively evoke reflections on universal human suffering. He was amongst the first Indonesian artists to enter the international art world in the early 1990s; the first and third Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane in 1993 and 1999, and Bienal de Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1998. His works are held by the National Gallery of Australia, as well as major collections around the globe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rajinder Singh <\/strong>(B. 1964) holds an enduring interest in South Asian magico-religious belief systems, and the shape and space that they deny us. He explores the variety of ways human unfolds the intersections between the world of the otherworldly, and the dynamics of global modernity. In 2019, he was part of the international show <em>\u2018Paralogical Machines: When Images Meet Us in Space and Time\u2019 <\/em>in Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yau Bee Ling<\/strong>\u2019s (B. 1972) recent abstract landscapes mark an important turning point in Yau Bee Ling\u2019s artistic practice, as she attempts to question life and femininity through a metaphorical approach. Master of composition and colours, the artist depicts components of the nature through her expressive gestures in painting.
