LEADING printmaker Kim Ng will hold his fifth solo art exhibition, \u201cAn Idyllic Space\u201d, at Wei-Ling Gallery in Jalan Scott, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n

The exhibition from March 9 to April 3 explores modern living and investigates how people interact with their environment.<\/p>\n

It is also Ng\u2019s voyage of self-discovery, as his works are imbued with nostalgic references which narrate his idyllic childhood spent in a small town.<\/p>\n

The exhibition explores the notion of \u201cplace and space\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ng records events and activities of his childhood and juxtaposes these images to construct \u201cnew places\u201d in his artworks.
\nHe describes the exhibition as \u201can attempt to construct an idealised world with its true identity destroyed and replaced with a new, visual form\u201d.<\/p>\n

The artist calls it \u201ca desire to find Utopia through rose-tinted glasses\u201d which allows the viewer to \u201cescape into the beauty of a perfect world\u201d.<\/p>\n

The exhibition opens daily (noon to 7pm from Mondays \u2014 Fridays; 10am to 5pm on Saturdays) except Sundays and public holidays. <\/em><\/p>\n
